UMBI – The idea
We are all normal, this is probably the biggest misconception in a world dominated by Social Media and Social Networking. The real fact is we all getting weirder or let's say this more appropriately very unique
Umbi simply stands for U Might be Interested
We have weird ticks and needs, but mostly afraid to expose them, let me give you an example. I love massages, I love to be spoilt a little and years ago I got my first 4 hands massage or mirror massage and it was pure bliss. I literally booked a weekly session, just to feel rewarded and spoiled for 90 minutes, but I never really enjoyed the spa environment. I got my massage and enjoyed it, but the part I did not enjoy so much was to... getup and go after the massage. Walking past the next inline and the reception area and driving home or to the office. One day I built up some courage and asked the therapists will it be possible to do this massage in the comfort of my home and to my surprise they hesitantly said yes. Well this took some negotiation and I won't go into too much detail to bore you, but 3 weeks later we arranged the first session in the comfort of my home. It was heaven!! They setup the massage bed, prepared the room I walked in got onto the massage bed and could enjoy every second of the massage and afterwards. They would pack up and go and I could relax in the comfort of my own home. Pure joy, pure relaxation and on my terms.
Well, unfortunately good things never last. The one therapist after about a year, decided to go do massages on boat cruises and the other one got a permanent spa management position and had to relocate. This is where the next problem started, because no matter how hard I searched I could never find other therapists doing it on these terms. In the end just gave up tired explaining my 'weird' requirement and the awkwardness eventually discouraged me to stop looking.
And this is where the idea for UMBI came from, we all have unique needs, someone we know that might be willing to do it, but tired of being judged and feeling awkward expressing this
